About

A foundry, not a hype machine

Hi, I'm Pavitra Gupta

I hold a Master’s degree in Computer Science from North Carolina State University and a B.S. in Computer Science & Information Technology. With a strong technical foundation, I have built my career across software development, enterprise technology, technical consulting, customer-facing roles, and digital solutions.

My professional experience includes working with organizations such as Fidelity Investments, BMC Software, Sapiens (Maximum Processing), and AfterShip, where I worked on software development, enterprise applications, client requirements, technical support, product improvements, onboarding, and cross-functional collaboration. At Sapiens, I spent nearly seven years developing enterprise insurance software, while my earlier roles at BMC and Fidelity gave me experience in product development, web technologies, debugging, and enterprise applications. Today, I combine this technical and business experience with my passion for AI—I am an AI lover who enjoys exploring how emerging AI technologies can solve real-world business and customer problems.

That mix is the whole point of this site: I've written the code, defended the budget, run the demo, and answered the support ticket. The Neural Foundry is where I turn that into writing and live cohorts for people who intend to build.

The Neural Foundry exists because most AI content sits at one of two extremes: research papers that assume a PhD, or breathless threads that assume nothing at all. There is a missing middle — practitioners who need to know what a technique does, when it breaks, and what it costs.

Everything published here comes out of real work: systems shipped, evals written, budgets defended. When something fails, that gets written up too. The goal is a body of material you can hand to a new teammate and trust.

Alongside the writing, I run small live cohorts. They stay small on purpose — teaching this well means reading your code and arguing about your architecture, which does not scale to a thousand seats.

Research

Reading papers, running benchmarks, and separating capability from marketing.

Practice

Building production systems: retrieval, agents, evals, and cost control.

Teaching

Turning that work into live cohorts and open essays anyone can use.
